June 2, 2014. We
left the Yogi Bear Campground and started for Port Arthur, TX, which was an
overnight stop.
Along the way we came upon the Tiger Truck Stop.
These folks are under attack for keeping tigers, which they
have been successfully doing for many years. We took pictures of the signs that
have information, an appeal for your support
and a warning about getting too close. I bet you are thinking they don’t
want to take a chance on you getting a big bite from “Tony”.
They ain’t talking about a perfume spray those gals do when
you walk through the make-up department in Macy’s.
Here’s Tony,
These last two pictures the camera had focused on the bars
rather than the tiger. They looked good through the view finder but blurry when
I saw then on my computer. Bummer.
Soon we were in Texas where stopped at the welcome Center for
lunch.
We overnighted at the Port Arthur RV Resort. A new park with
all concrete pads, water, electric, sewer, wifi and cable. Life’s good.
June 3, we continued on to League City, Texas which is in
between Huston and Galveston. Other than heavy traffic going around Huston in
was a nice drive. Saw more refineries oleanders along the road and lots of
over/under passes as the freeways crisscrossed around Huston.
Mercifully I'm not putting any pictures on Shutterfly for this write up. :)
